About

Safety paperwork written by someone who has worked the job.

Derek Henderson

I'm Derek Henderson. HazMat and confined space rescue, 15+ years working under BC OHS. It's work where conditions are rarely ideal and the paperwork has to hold up when it matters.

That's where BC Safety Docs comes from. The permits, procedures and forms crews are asked for are often either blank pages or US templates that don't match the WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation. I built these to be specific to BC, short enough to use on a real job, and traceable to the section they come from.

How the documents are checked

Every regulatory reference is checked against the live WorkSafeBC OHS Regulation or the Workers Compensation Act. When I find a wrong citation, I fix it and say so: in July 2026 an audit of our own permit found seven, and the corrected list is on the confined space permit page.

What these are, and aren't

These are working templates, not legal or regulatory advice, and not a substitute for a qualified person's assessment of your site. Review them against the current Regulation before you rely on them. If you spot something that's wrong or out of date, email info@bcsafetydocs.com and I'll check it.
